Story
Her grandmother’s house was a magical place. To her young eyes, it seemed as though each nook and corner hid away ancient secrets, that nothing was quite as it seemed. She was certain that a genie lived in the old steel trunk, or that the banyan tree in the yard was haunted. No one could change her mind about praying to every god she knew when dusk turned to night, or to burn sage like a ritual every evening. But then, one night, the power went out and it was too hot to sleep indoors. With great trepidation, she wandered outside, to the little lily pond, and lay down on the damp soil near it. To pass the time, she began to count the stars above her. She couldn’t tell when she was lulled into a peaceful, restful slumber. But the next morning, when she woke up chirpy and refreshed, she realised that the house was indeed magical, but in very different ways than she had thought.
Fall in love with the world all over again, when you wear this gorgeous blue kurta that’s paired with white bottoms. The kurta is made of handloom Jamdani cotton, while the bottoms are made of cotton. This set includes an under-layer.
Jamdani is also referred to as extra-weft ornamentation, on-loom embroidery, or discontinuous weft. The patterns are developed on graph paper and fastened under the warp. A weaver then painstakingly works the on-loom embroidery using needles or extra weft shuttles, creating each motif individually. Jamdani fabrics feel delicate and opulent while also being light, comfortable and very fashion-forward.
